Thoughts on design bootcamps

I don't think they're bad. I think they're not worth investing SO much money.

Design, like any other specific knowledge, can be only learned through experience. The basics, on the other hand, can be taught. General rules for using colour, typography, design principles, grids, layout and more.

Invest 2-4 weeks to learn the basics. Then start taking projects (or designing your own) and practice, practice, practice.

Most of the information can be found for free. If you're looking for structured information – use cheaper courses to find out what to learn. Then open YouTube, Google and make them your best friends.
